Impact Force 2001

Impact Force 2001

Impact Force is the force acting at the racquet's mass center (balance point) due to impact. It should be low. Impact Force is the Impact Impulse, divided by the dwell time, so increasing the dwell time by looser strings or other means will be good for reducing this force. Torque is the Impact Force times the lever arm, so a shorter lever arm (head-light balance) will be good for reducing Torque for two racquets having the same Impact Force. Impulse Reaction ranks are the same as ranks under Impact Force, so the higher the sweet spot (i.e. the more positive the Impulse Reaction), the better for reducing Impact Force. The Impact Force rankings under the five benchmark conditions were weighted, then these weighted ranks were summed to produce the weighted sum that determined the overall rank.
